Amazon chuẩn bị gia nhập thị trường tablet
(Dân trí) - Chiếc máy tính bảng do công ty chế tạo máy tính xách tay Quanta (Đài Loan) sản xuất gắn thương hiệu Amazon được xem như là “át chủ bài” giúp kênh bán lẻ Mỹ cạnh tranh trực tiếp với Apple và Barnes & Noble.
Amazon nhăm nhe cạnh tranh với Apple iPad.
Theo nguồn tin của trang Digitimes (Đài Loan), Amazon rất có thể sẽ gia nhập thị trường máy tính bảng vào cuối năm nay. “Đại gia” bán lẻ của Mỹ hiện đã đặt hàng với nhà sản xuất Quanta Computer để sản xuất máy tính bảng sử dụng công nghệ màn hình của công ty E Ink Holdings (Đài Loan).
Digitimes cho hay các đối tác cung cấp linh kiện cho Quanta đã hé lộ thông tin rằng Quanta chuẩn bị xuất xưởng máy tính bảng cho Amazon vào nửa cuối 2011, với số lượng khoảng từ 700.000-800.000.
Quanta hiện là nhà sản xuất máy tính bảng cho RIM và dự kiến công ty này cũng sẽ chế tạo tablet cho Sony và cả Lenovo.
Digitimes cho rằng Amazon gia nhập thị trường tablet bởi sức ép từ “cơn sốt” sách điện tử Kindle đang lan tỏa mạnh mẽ tại Bắc Mỹ và châu Âu.
Máy tính bảng của Amazon sử dụng hệ điều hành Android. Hồi tháng 3 vừa qua, Amazon đã khai trương một gian ứng dụng Android của riêng mình và mở thêm một dịch vụ CloudDrive để lưu trữ tài liệu online.
Với máy tính bảng Android sắp ra mắt, Amazon hy vọng sẽ khuyến khích người dùng mua các ứng dụng của mình và sử dụng dịch vụ CloudDrive. Amazon đặt mục tiêu cạnh tranh với iPad của Apple và sách điện tử Barnes & Noble's Nook Color.
